1. The catholic church and many others have stood up to be counted.

The Catholic church has had a very public confrontation with signatories from the business world who have openly supported homosexual (and other relationships) being included in the definition of marriage.
The Australian Christian Lobby are working hard to muster a Christian voice (see link)
The Australian Prayer Network has produced a MUST READ edition outlining the 10 myths about redefining marriage
Sandy Grant from St Michael's Anglican Cathedral gave a well attended public lecture on the proposal to redefine the definition of marriage.
The Fatherhood Foundation had produced an excellent publication "21 Reasons Why Gender Matters"
Add your signature to the 60 000 who have already signed the Canberra Declaration.
We must not be 'asleep in the light'. Banks and companies are for some reason flaunting their slide to moral bankruptcy. There is a significant war going on. Please examine the implications carefully and be publicly active in declaring Kingdom values.

Just in: In a 5 - 4 vote, non elected Supreme Court judges in the USA have changed the law for all of the 50 states concerning the rights of homosexuals to marry. The flow on effect is that homosexual couples now have the right as a spouse or parent on birth and death certificates and other legal papers. No one is talking about the rights of children.

2. Religious Education Review

SRE is under review. It's easy to submit a statement of support through Youthworks. As with the historical institution of marriage, scripture in schools is under attack from a noisy, well organised minority. Please take the time to get your congregation to respond on the electronic form. For an informed understanding of why have SRE in schools, follow link.

Excellence is the result of caring more than others think is wise, risking more than others think is safe, dreaming more than others think is practical and expecting more than others think is possible. (200, 000 web hits, original author unknown)

August 27th. 'War Room', the movie, see the background trailer and  the Australian trailer. This movie is a MUST SEE!
It's about the power of prayer, strategic prayer. The story is built around an older lady who disciples a young lady in how to pray for her marriage. It's produced in order to be able to confidently take friends, whether Christian or not.
